ETTA Mission Statement

ETTA will establish an executive and judiciary that respond to the needs and aspirations of the East Timorese people consonant with the goal of building a viable, self-sustaining state. This task is based on building solid institutions and policy frameworks, progressively increasing the capacity of East Timorese to take responsibility for their own future. Immediate objectives include the rebuilding of destroyed infrastructure; the re-establishing of basic social services and safety nets including food sufficiency; the revitalisation of the economy and the generation of employment. Working with all East Timorese stakeholders, the goal of a speedy transfer of sovereignty to a well-prepared people provides the compass by which we steer.
